ABOUT US
We are Dora and Tamas Lukacsfy, we are owners and breeders of the Saint Michael Island Siberian Husky Kennel in Hungary. We are a family-typed kennel, which registered in the Hungarian Kennel Club (MEOSZ) and Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).
Our story started in 2007, this magnificent breed stole our heart when we bougth our first Siberian as a pet from a small hungarian kennel. His name was Gentle Wolf Black aka Höpi. He was our first experience with the breed but we immediately fell in love with him. We got the most amazing dog in the world. He was excellent in character, he was friendly, kind and beautiful. He taught us a lot about the breed, connected us to many other breeders and made our life full of surprises and happiness.
He passed away at the age of 16, he deeply missed

In 2018 Our next step was when we decided to buy a female Siberian to gain more experience about the breed and learn what it is like when they live in pack. Needless to say it was the best decision. After Maya’s (Brigimerci Fairytale) arrival, Höpi completely changed, in the best possible sense. From then they did everything together. Slept together, ate together, ran and played together, they spent the whole day together. I can definitely say the best thing you can do with a Siberian is that you buy another or more Siberian to her/him.

Maya was our first husky whom we tried to train in dog school where she can learn basic obedience tasks as walk in the leash comfortably, sit down, lie down, stand in one place, do some agility excercises and play with other dogs. It was a great socializing opportunity.  Maya exceeded all our expectations, learned very quickly, loved taking part the trainings and soon she successfully passed her first exam, the BH exam with Tomi, her human.

In the next year we decided we wanted to get to know something completely new for us, so we began to delving to the Dog Show World. After a long search we found our next dog who was love at first sight. Damon (Ara Millenium Dressed in Red) came to us from about 1600 kilometers away, from the other side of Ukraine. After his arrival which was in december 2019, we started to preparing our first Dog show, Fehova Winter Dog Show in February 2020.
We prepared with all our heart but on the first day of the show, on the ringside we realized we were not ready for it. 😊
Fortunately, Olga, Damon’s breeder travelled a lot from Ukraine to participated on this event too and she was our savior.  It didn’t cause any problem for her to grooming, showing and taking care for our dogs beside her owns. We left our very first show with great experiences and so much fun.

We got to know how much we still don’t know and how much we have to learn, this process has been going on ever since. It was a great pleasure for us, that we got our first trophy. Damon won 4x Very Promising I., 3x Best Puppy on this show and with these he finished his Hungarian Puppy Grand Winner title. The end of the weekend we had our first champion of our kennel.
Damon is not only successfull in the ring, but also in dog school too. Just like Maya, he is very smart and learn quickly. At his first attempt, he also passed his BH exam with Tomi, his Human too.

We also needed to improve our grooming technique so we participated on some webinars and we observed other husky breeders who had more experience than us. We tried to find out what products are used and how they used them.
Our development was also noticeable to others. We were proud of our success and this gave us even more motivation to continue.
In 2020, our special girl Winter Melody Black Magic aka Queen arrived us from Poland. She is the sweetest dog from the first moment with wonderful temperament and character. She made friendships with the other members of the pack immediately.
Unfortunately due to Covid some shows were cancelled so we could not show her just in limited number of the shows.

2021 was a very busy year for us, two beautiful girls arrived into our kennel. At the beginning of the year, Femme Fatale Kingdom Navjord aka Kira from Belarus and at the end of the year, Winter Melody Northern Fire aka Madison from Poland.

Kira on her first show fulfilled her Hungarian Puppy Grand Winner and her second show she went to Reserve Puppy Best in Show in a huge competition.
Madison on her very first show which one was the European Dog Show 2021 in Budapest, Hungary won Very Promising II. with her breeder, Ewa. It was the best possible debut for these two young girls.

This year wasn’t just about the dog show. We started to educate ourselves very seriously. We applied for a cynology course. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the dog, anatomy, movement and much more from Attila, a judge with great knowledge and experience.
We also listened to many online lectures and webinars on various topics from judges, veterinarians and Siberian husky breeders to improve our knowledge such as reproductive biology, hereditary diseases, nutrition, genetics, seminars about the breed and others.
Undoubtebly, 2022 was the most exciting year for us. February 2022 our first litter was born in our kennel. Damon & Maya were the parents and we got a beautiful girl out of them. Saint Micheal Island One & Only aka Honey was born as a singleton and she was the first dog who got the name of our kennel. It was an amazing experience to see her from the first moment. To see when she opened her eyes first, when she took her first step, to see her growing up and became a sweet and beautiful adult was invaluable.
Honey was born as a singleton but she wasn’t bored for a long time because an unexpected guest, Ara Millenium Femme Fatale aka Raven came to us from Ukraine a few months after her birth.
Raven is a special girl who was born at the beginning of the war in Ukraine. She spent the first few months there, before she arrived to us. Maya accepted her at the first moment and raised her as her own just like Honey. She is a very kind and family-oriented girl.
We didn’t have enough time to train Raven for her very first show but the results which she achieved despite of this were amazing.

She won minor puppy class out of 6 beautiful minor puppies, got a Very Promising I. title, Best Minor Puppy of the Breed and after that she won Minor Puppy Best in Specialty Show. After that she had only one chance, only one weekend with two shows where she could finished her championship as minor puppy before she became puppy. So we decided to give this chance to her and travel a lot to this show because of her. She made us so proud again because she won her class at both shows, went to Best Minor Puppy of the Breed and finished her Hungarian Minor Puppy Grand Winner during only 3 shows. Raven’s show career continued to rise

and won many amazing titles and championships as Reserve Puppy Best in Show, Puppy Best in Specialty Show, Junior Best in Specialty Show, Best of Breeds, Best of Group III.
Along with Raven, Honey also did a great work in the show ring. First amazing result was when she won Best in Show as a puppy, followed that a Junior Best in Show III. and V.place, many Best of Breed Winner and Best of Group Winner titles, champions from Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina and what I am the most proud is completing the International Champion when she was only 2,5 years old.

This year we decided to try our luck in Dog Couple competition as well. Our first experience was an International Dog Show on Békéscsaba in April 2022. We entered the girls, Kira and Madison as a couple in the Best in Show program. It was a very interesting experience and at the same time funny because the girls didn’t understand why both of them were appearing. Despite all of this we finished the competition with a Reserve Best Couple title.
After that there were lots of practicing with the dogs as a couple. We tried many different pairings like Kira-Madison, Maya-Honey, Maya-Raven, Madison-Damon, but the most successfull couples are Kira-Damon and Honey-Raven.

2023 brought another significant change to our lives. Next to the dog shows, we decided to go on another adventure and discover a completely new world for us. The world of sled dog sports.
First we tried canicross where you have to run, walk or hike together with your dog in harness.

Our dogs loved them, enjoyed every excursion. Some months later we leveled up and we bought some extra equipments for the bikejöring. This is what our dogs enjoy even more and can’t wait for the trainings. Actually we only do this sport as a good hobby, which we love together with the dogs, but later I’m sure we give a chance to ourselves to try a sled dog race.

Of course, this year could not remain without learning either. The Hungarian Kennel Club announced an official breeding course for their members, I immediately applied for it.  At the end of the course I passed the exam and I got the certificate, that I am a breeder who completed a breeding course.

2024 is the year we received our miracle. After a very long wait, our second litter finally arrived to our kennel. Kira & Damon gave us 4 beautiful light red girls. They were born on 23 October.
I can’t wait to see them growing up. I hope they will have a fantastic life in a loving family which they deserve.

I am already looking forward to what type of challenges, successes and miracles will give 2025 for us.
